The Epworth Geelong concussion clinic is designed for individuals who have suffered a concussion as a result of a head knock and are experiencing ongoing post concussive symptoms.
These can include headaches, confusion, fatigue, dizziness and balance issues. Individuals also may have nausea and vomiting, difficulties concentrating, irritability or feel anxious or depressed.
What happens at the concussion clinic?
Individuals are assessed for concussion and post-concussion syndrome by a multidisciplinary team led by Dr Reem Al Hanna, Rehabilitation Medicine Specialist and Dr Jo Sherry, Senior Clinical
Neuropsychologist with PhD. Other members of the team include a physiotherapist, exercise physiologist and occupational therapist who provide support, education and intervention for patients enabling a successful and safe return to work and sport.
The Epworth Geelong concussion clinic is located in the sessional suites on Level 1 at Epworth Geelong.
