First man in emergency at Epworth Geelong

Greg Lane is the Principal at St Mary’s Primary School at Swan Hill.

Holidaying in Anglesea, Greg slipped and fell yesterday, hurting his elbow. After a night of discomfort, Greg presented at Epworth Geelong this morning “to be sure it’s not broken”. He didn’t realise that his fall was to become Epworth history, making him the first male patient seen in the new Emergency Department.

After a quick x-ray, Dr Glenn Harrison was able to reassure Mr Lane and his wife, Felicity, that there was nothing broken. “The staff were all smiling and welcoming when I arrived,” said a relieved Mr Lane as he prepared to leave, a little over an hour later.

Great service and a great outcome for our first man in emergency!
